I’m back with a new video as my Secret Santa gift to a fellow Romitri shipper who is an amazing and lovely artist. This Romitri video is my favorite so far and it’s slow with a lot of sadness and angst, but that’s one of the reasons we love them, right?

This video was supposed to be from Rose’s perspective but turned into a lot more for both of them. It is set in ep. 9 as they both say their goodbyes and Rose leaves (without them actually realizing this). I played around a lot with parallels. They’ve both recently lost someone very dear to them, they both had/have charges they view as their best friends and love deeply and they are both struggling to find who they are outside of being a guardian.

One of the most beautiful parts of their story for me is the fact that they are both on the same path of discovery, but have different viewpoints. Through the love that blossoms between them they both realize that the life they live can be so much more and they get to experience this new feeling with each other. Having experienced something they actually want just for themselves is not something either can forget, the difference is that Rose wants to fight for it but Dimitri is rooting himself even harder which creates a rift between them. With that said, Dimitri still can’t help but choose Rose over and over. This in turn leaves Rose even more conflicted, confused and heartbroken. In ep. 10 they are still on different paths. Let’s hope for a season 2 that can show a growth for both of them and result in them actually being happy with each other for a while.
